VOLUNTEER
WHY VOLUNTEER?
Volunteering is a fantastic way to help others. It also helps you develop new skills, improve your employability, and stay active and involved in your community. Those who volunteer their time and talents get a variety of rewards, such making a difference in other people's lives, feeling appreciated and part of a team, meeting new people, and making friends.
One-on-one social support
A social support volunteer visits one of our customers on a regular basis to give company. This might be as simple as meeting for coffee and a discussion at a client's house, or going out for lunch or to attend a movie. You'll be carefully matched with someone who matches your interests and with whom you're likely to form a bond.
Gardening or maintenance
Do you consider yourself a handy person or do you have a green thumb? As a gardening or maintenance volunteer, you will assist our customers with the upkeep of their gardens and homes. This might involve grass mowing, trimming, painting, and other routine house care.
Administration
An administrative volunteer will offer administrative assistance and general office responsibilities from our Adelaide headquarters. This might involve data input, document typing, minute-taking, and mail-out support.
Events
Care & Connects organize a number of events for our clients, their families and support networks. This includes the monthly Boom Box discos, the Christmas brunch and yearly picnic. An events volunteer will offer event assistance including build up and tear down, canteen responsibilities and other event support as requested.
